It supports USB data transfer rates up to 12Mb/s, auto detects RS-422 or RS-485 compatible signals, and features zero jumper configuration for easy installation. Additionally, this converter comes with 15KV ESD protection, surge protection and short circuit protection to protect both connected device and the converter itself from unforeseen power surges. The USB to RS-422/485 Converter is fully compliant with USB Specification, Rev. 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0, is FCC and CE approved, and RoHS compliant. It supports a wide variety of Windows operating systems and is backed by SIIG's limited 5-year warranty.
