It is designed to easily add two external FireWire 400 (1394a) ports to your PCI Express-enabled PC or Mac® desktop computer. It supports data transfer rates of up to 400 Mb/s, and allows you to hot-swap devices (connect and disconnect) without first turning your system off. This 2-port dual profile FireWire adapter card comes with an on-board power connector to provide extra reliable power source from the system and a spare low profile bracket for low profile system chassis installations. The DP FireWire 2-Port PCIe works with any available PCI Express slots with different lane width and is a reliable cost-effective solution to connect your high-speed FireWire devices such as hard disk drive enclosures, scanners, CD-RW/DVD-ROMs, digital cameras, and DV camcorders to your PC or Mac computer.
